Counselling Bristol

Why start counselling?

Selena Reid

Counselling or Psychotherapy? Counselling is similar to Psychotherapy in that we create an environment together where it is safe to explore any difficulties you may be experiencing. We achieve this by drawing on a range of techniques that support you in addressing the underlying issues that cause undesirable behaviour patterns and/or life situations. The primary difference is that Counselling tends to be shorter term therapy, which may be all that is required to create a significant positive shift. Sometimes, where more support is required this can then transition into Psychotherapy where we can explore deeper aspects as required.

Are you seeking connection? I believe it is important for us to feel a positive connection, as this allows you to receive the most beneficial experience from counselling. To this end it is valuable for you to understand why I became a therapist...

Are you looking to connect with your body? Many people are stuck in their heads, where it can feel safer as to connect with emotions held in the body can feel too overwhelming and unsafe. My approach reflects my belief that our minds and our bodies need to work together in harmony...

Are you feeling stuck or unhappy? Or need support to heal? I provide a safe, confidential and accepting space to support you with whatever you bring to our sessions. My goal is to help you live your life in alignment with your true purpose...

Looking for a more active approach? Integrative Psychotherapy training allows us to draw on a number of approaches. During our sessions we work together, co-creatively, and I will actively guide and support you, providing you with information as well as emotional support...

How much does it cost? £25 discounted initial session, then £45 per 50 minute session thereafter. Fixed time per week. Times by arrangement. The fees are based on my level of training...

Where am I based? Suite 1, 196-198 Cheltenham Rd, Bristol, BS6 5QZ. This is a short distance North from the center of Bristol...

It takes courage to seek help. Counselling offers a safe environment where we can explore how underlying issues from the past affect your emotions, behaviours and relationships in the present. This can be a key process in achieving your full potential...

It's never too late to be who you might have been.
